Completely Random Post About How Completely Random Life Can Be

I type this post after 9PM EST on Tuesday, the day that I am supposed to post new content.  I am sure all of you were sitting on the edge of your seats all day waiting for me to post.  Some of you thought I would forget to post today, and you were just waiting to call me on it tomorrow (sorry).  I am painfully aware that this post will not be my best writing, nor will it be remotely instructional.  This post is what it is: a completely random post about how completely random life can be.

After watching my Baltimore Ravens totally humiliate the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, I have had a whirlwind of a Monday and Tuesday.  You see, I am in training for a part time job that will focus on empowering families to make difficult life decisions.  So, I have been "off" of my stay at home dad duties to attend the training, which was nice besides the fact that I missed my little munchkin.  Last night I helped an older couple from my church set up a Gmail account, and transfer all of their stuff over to it from their old account.  They told me that I could have any of the plants in their flower beds since they were now moving to Ohio.  So, tonight was spent digging up flowers and plants.  This afternoon, following my training, I visited the campus of my alma mater, Messiah College, where I visited some former professors and friends on campus.  See, completely random, right?

What I have realized through all of this is that I don't miss my old routine.  I don't miss the late nights, the weekend work schedules, and working open to close every holiday.  I don't miss the drama in the workplace.  I don't miss making decisions about things that don't really matter to me in the long run.  I don't miss having several different bosses all telling me to do different tasks in a different way.  I don't miss the paperwork!

My life has been sort of random during times of transition, but there is always peace that we are making the right decisions, even though we could have never foreseen them.  I never thought that I would have a blog that people would actually read (you are still reading, right?).  I never thought that I would be good at being Mr. Mom.  I never thought that I would enjoy talking about what I do now.  I never thought that I would feel more complete as a man when not working full time.

Life is truly random, and most of the time, pretty amazing.  I have had two days to really think about that with all of the random stuff that has happened, but tomorrow, it's back to reality.  A trip to the post office and a visit to the local library for story time are on the docket for tomorrow, after all, it is officially Family Literacy Week.  It will be good to get back to my routine and not having so much random stuff going on.  Plus, I get to play with the munchkin all day!  It's the best job ever.

  6. I'm not going to pretend that I understand what your saying other than you read it, and you understood it. I suppose that's what is important. Thank you for reading! And I really need to thank Ted for sending his audience my way!
