How You Can Help Me Be The Next @BloggerIdol

The madness has officially begun! I was selected from roughly 160 applicants to participate in a little writing competition called Blogger Idol.  Inspired by the popular American Idol TV show, Blogger Idol wants to find the "next big thing" in the blogosphere.  Each Saturday, contestants are given a writing prompt by the judges, and they have until Tuesday to complete their post.  Once the items are posted, they are reviewed by a panel of judges before being opened to the public eye.  The public gets access to the posts every Wednesday at noon, and fans are allowed to vote for their favorite entry.  Voting is only open for 36 hours, and counts for a portion of each contestant's total score.  Eliminations are announced on Fridays, and the entire process starts again.

If you would like to help me by voting for my entry each week, you can visit the Blogger Idol homepage every Wednesday at noon CST (1pm EST).  The first post will be where you will be able to vote for me (I will post a direct link via Facebook and Twitter when it goes live, so make sure to follow me there!).  Thank you so much for your support during this fun contest!

You can also participate by writing your own posts.  Each Monday, the public will be given a chance to see the prompt that we were given, and you can submit your own posts for others to read.  How cool is that?  It's a fun way to participate while enjoying the challenge.  I look forward to reading what you come up with.
